Welcome to the Humans of Project Earth Community! 🎉

Humans of Project Earth (HOPE), is a collective of people helping each other make a difference in our world.

We can make a bigger difference when we work together, so HOPE is a curation of resources in the aid sector and a place where we can be inspired by others, seek help, and build a better tomorrow.

We ignite the humanitarian spirit, believing everyone has the potential to make positive change. We see world challenges as opportunities for empathy and action, not obstacles. By simplifying the giving process and making it accessible to all through education, community, and hands-on action, we empower individuals from all backgrounds to take charge.

Redefining “Humanitarian’’

Hi! I’m Angela Ng. I’m an engineer and public health advocate with a passion for making a difference. My work has taken me to Bangladesh, Rwanda, and beyond, where I've worked on water, sanitation, health, and disaster resiliency. I’ve always wanted to be a "humanitarian," but felt it was only for those on the front lines of crises. Then it hit me: every act of kindness makes one a humanitarian. We’re all just humans, trying to find our way on this earth, making a difference one action at a time.

My love of our world drove me towards Climate work, and I found so many amazing online communities for climate action that had networking, community-building, and resource-sharing galore (such as Work on Climate, Women and Climate, ClimateAction.Tech, and My Climate Journey). I scoured the internet for humanitarian-focused groups and found none. There were communities for remote workers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs, and paid memberships for big NGOs, but I was looking for something open, free, manageable, something like the mutual aid groups during COVID.

So, inspired by how people shared stories, raised awareness, and helped each other out during the pandemic on the ground level, I thought, "Could we put our heads together and do something more? Could we educate, network, or start a program or a project that isn’t organization to organization, but people to people?" With that spark, I’m starting HOPE: Humans of Project Earth.

We’re a collective of good humans who inspire each other daily, sharing resources and ideas. It's time we bring our efforts together to help one another, and help others.
